The fly fishing movie … no, not that movie!

The Fly Fishing Film Tour is being described as “pure fly-fishing entertainment” and it’s making its way to Grand Rapids. Imagine a bunch of young guys traveling to really remote ares of the world to fly fish. Throw in action, adventure and humor and you get the idea.

It appears this tour was preceded by two other movies by AEG Media called Trout Bum Diaries. I have not seen either film, but from the clips I have seen they look pretty exciting.

The movie is playing at the Wealthy Theater in Grand Rapids on March 4. You are highly encouraged to buy tickets in advance because it could very well sell out.

People from Schrems West Michigan TU will be helping out at the theater on that night, so stop by and say hello! Complimentary trial memberships to Trout Unlimited will be handed out — be sure to ask for one!

Follow the progress of the movie’s presentations in the blog of the Fly Fishing Film Tour.

I wish I could have been there!!! Former GR resident now up north fudgie who had to teach an intro to fly tying class in Petoskey. It looks like a fabulous turn-out, all the who’s who in the biz’.

Great show! We need more things like this. I am glad the TU is such a big part of the Tour.
Any talk of the Trout Bums themselves coming into GR?

We spoke to the “bums” yesterday to let them know about the fantastic show. They were thrilled when we told them about the turnout and enthusiasm. They were touched when we spoke of the $350 raised for Bristol Bay. Grand Rapids sets the benchmark for other cities! We thanked them for producing such a great film and when they asked about coming back next year, we said absolutely. Keep your fingers crossed.
How about a little pressure from the membership for your chapter to match the $350 raised for Bristol Bay? I’m way for it, but let’s hear from the membership. If you want the chapter to send in an additional $350 to match Tuesday night’s donations then write a comment on this thread. Let’s help keep Bristol Bay pristine for our future generations!

Membership match for Bristol Bay is a ‘great’ idea.

Some great movies, but could they work on the audio a bit? The Swedish(?) guy at the beginning needed subtitles to understand. And TU promo was really low.
