Located at Boyne Mountain Resort, the Michigan Fly Fishing Festival is designed to showcase the best of Michigan’s fly fishing heritage and innovation.  Chances to enjoy live music, good food, check out some new gear and get out during season.  Above all, enjoy a good time with friends and colleagues within our industry!

Saturday, July 20

10am-6pm: Michigan Fly Fishing Festival open to the public.  Vendors and manufacturer representatives will be on hand and complimentary casting clinics are offered throughout the day.
12-6pm: BBQ provided by Tannery Creek Meat Market
12-3pm: Live music by Hipps ‘n Ricco
2-4pm: Casting for Conservation casting competition – qualifying round.  50% of the proceeds go to benefit conservation projects for northern Michigan.
12pm-12pm (Sunday): Tip of the Mitt On The Fly Challenge.  Take part in this *fly fishing only* 24 hour fishing competition
4pm: SPEAKER – “Fly Fishing Michigan’s Tip of the Mitt” – Ethan Winchester, Boyne Outfitters
5pm: SPEAKER – “Fly Casting Fundamentals for Fiberglass & Bamboo Rods” – Glen Blackwood, Great Lakes Fly Fishing Company

Sunday, July 21

10am-4pm: Michigan Fly Fishing Festival open to the public.  Vendors and manufacturer representatives will be on hand and complimentary casting clinics are offered throughout the day.
10am-12pm: Casting for Conservation casting competition – final round.  50% of the proceeds go to benefit conservation projects for northern Michigan.
12-1pm: Trout Pond Single Fly Competition.  This is a single fly – fly fishing competition on the Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa pond.
2pm: SPEAKER – “The Angling Writings of Robert Traver” – Glen Blackwood, Great Lakes Fly Fishing Company
3pm: Closing ceremony
