Buck Creek clean-up on August 12

Buck Creek Cleanup - August 12, 2014

(UPDATE August 15, 2014: Pete Miller says, “Thanks to all that helped clean up Buck Creek yesterday. We made great progress, but there is more to do. Special thanks to Rich and Eric for involving their kids!”)

Pete Miller, the SWMTU Conservation Chair, is organizing a clean-up of Buck Creek in Wyoming and Grandville on August 12, 2014. There are some areas of the creek that are over-run with garbage in the water and along the banks. If interested in participating, please sign up here or contact Pete at 517-420-4003.

There will be two sessions; the morning session will run from 9-12 and the evening session will run from 5-8. Please bring waders or wear long pants. There will opportunities to walk the banks as well as get in the creek. We will focus our efforts on picking up trash and debris. Buck Creek is a threatened cold water trout stream that can use our help. We will meet at Lemery Park located off of Byron Center Ave. north of 44th Street.
